Difference Between DoFollow And NoFollow Links (The Basics)

Whenever we talk about SEO their The Terms NoFollow And DoDollow comes. These words are very important for SEO without understanding these words SEO gets incomplete also they are very important for search engines as the links which have dofollow attribute passes through them and they count them as backlinks.



 Nofollow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct search engines bots that a hyperlink should not influence the link target’s ranking in the search engine’s index. It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing from occurring in the first place. This is a concept was first introduced by Matt Cutts and Jason Shellen in the year 2005.

So Whats The Difference Between Them-

This Link Is A NoFollow Link Because of nofollow attribute. So  when search engines find these links they do not follow them meaning that they do not pass link-juice.

The Above Two Links A are of dofollow attribute meaning that when search engines crawl your site they will also crawl these links also link-juice will be passed through them.

Note- The Links With nofollow attribute are not counted as backlinks.

Nofollow And Dofollow links differ by "rel" attribute also the links without this attribute comes under dofollow category.

USES Of nofollow attribute-
